After the ballots were counted following the Republican primary on June 27, Deleon Guerrero told reporters that the results showed that the GOP “is a strong party.”
He also said that he would support the winning Heinz-Arnold team.
Last Sunday, however, he was at the Covenant Party rally to express support for Gov. Benigno R. Fitial’s candidacy.
A former Democrat who served as public works secretary in the Froilan C. Tenorio administration, Deleon Guerrero later joined the GOP.
He served with the now defunct MPLA, which the Fitial administration abolished due to the “abuses” of its officials.
Deleon Guerrero sued the Department of Public Lands after he was terminated by the administration, but the court dismissed the case.
