A huge 14th birthday bash for Giovanni’s Restaurant

Giovanni’s was transformed to fit its “Fly me to the moon” birthday theme, the dimmed lights adding to the festive air which grew more festive as the night wore on and as guests emptied more bottles of fine wines.

Food, wine, laughter and conversations flowed freely as guests rubbed shoulders and exchanged pleasantries with friends and acquaintances.

As the only restaurant serving authentic Italian cuisine, Giovanni’s Restaurant under Italian chef Gabriel Colombo came out with the best in delectable Italian dishes to satisfy the palates of the guests and diners.

Nikishawa said that despite the bad economy, people are still going out to enjoy what the island has to offer.

He said that with the good teamwork and with chef Colombo at the helm, he expects Giovanni’s to celebrate more anniversaries in the years to come.

Nikishawa said that albeit Giovanni’s menu may be priced a little bit higher than other restaurants, customers are paying for quality.

To keep abreast with the changing tastes of the customers, Nikishawa said they conduct a quarterly assessment of the restaurant’s menus and introduce new items.

“We can’t stick to one menu. Like fashion, it changes and we change as we continue to serve our customers,” he said.

For newcomer Michael Wilson who took over as Assistant Food & Beverage manager five months ago, Giovanni’s 14th birthday celebration is a huge success.

“Everything is perfect, the theme is cool and the guests are enjoying themselves,” Wilson said.

Restaurant manager Arnel Metran said the good turn-out of diners is an indication of the community’s continued support not only to Giovanni’s Restaurant but to the Hyatt Regency Hotel. Guests got a slice of Giovanni’s birthday cake, and lucky guests went home with attractive prices during the raffle draws.

Colombo said that the Giovanni’s has been providing a cozy atmosphere that can equal any upbeat restaurant on premier dining.
