Adrian Palacios followed up Ajarte’s streak with another two straight two-pointers and nailed Ol’ Aces to 28 points.
Trevor Ogumoro powered Ol’ Aces early in the first half hitting six of his 10 points.
The two teams met on 14-14 deadlock at the end of the first half but the Sonics maintained their defense all the way to the end clamping on Ol’ Aces repeated attempts to catch up.
John Paul Villanueva chipped in four including his two penalty shots in the first half.
Dae Won Jeon fired two consecutive two point shots, Tristan Ecaluea sank nine poins and Palacios basketed four more points to pull Sonics away from Ol’ Aces midway to the final buzzer.
Coached by Jessie Tudela, it was Sonics’ first game of the season.
Ol’Aces scored only 14 points in the final half of the game against the Sonics’ 23 points.
The Sonics pushed Ol’ Aces to the edge in a full court defense.
