The initiative aims to influence businesses and communities to adopt a “greener frame of mind,” according to Janice E. Castro, DEQ’s local action strategy coordinator.
The campaign will promote eco-friendly choices, habits and lifestyles by raising the islands’ “green” consciousness, Castro said.
“We’re promoting the use of non-toxic household products as well as reusable grocery bags and its benefits,” she told the Variety.
Castro said a “Green Team” will organize outreach events at selected groceries every week.
