In an e-mail statement, Cruz said he is seeking a public office “to fight for the long forgotten indigenous people of the commonwealth.”
He also endorsed the Independent gubernatorial team of former Sen. Ramon S. Deleon Guerrero and his running mate, former Education Commissioner David Borja.
Cruz said the two have the integrity and the commitment that the CNMI needs.
“We respectfully and humbly ask for your vote of confidence this coming Nov. 7 election for we will
continue fighting for all of you our fellow indigenous Chamorros and Carolinians and our community as a whole,” he said.
“My utmost priorities are public utilities, public lands, public health, public services, the Retirement Fund, unemployment, the youth, infrastructure, education, protection of Article 12, rights to minerals in our submerged lands, the natural resources condemnation, indigenous affairs, indigenous rights to culture, federal relations, crimes, graffiti, domestic violence, eye sores and last but not the least, corruption, white collar crimes and government abuse.”
Today is the last day of filing candidacies at the Commonwealth Election Commission.
