GOVERNOR David M. Apatang issued the following statement on Wednesday:
“Lt. Gov. Dennis Mendiola and I extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who contributed and made time to join the family and the Commonwealth at the Commonwealth State Funeral and Funeral Mass in honor of our beloved Gov. Arnold I. Palacios.
“We will always remember the presence of all the dignitaries representing state, federal, non-profits and business sectors during the funeral services. We will never forget those that expressed their condolences who were not able to be in the Commonwealth in person. We thank you for your kindness and support during the Commonwealth’s time of mourning.
“To the people of the CNMI, our dedicated interagency department staff, and our Commonwealth leaders, thank you for the respect and honor you bestowed upon the late Governor Palacios.
“Your presence, your prayers, and your quiet gestures of remembrance offered comfort to a grieving Commonwealth and especially the late Governor’s family and stood as a powerful testament to the life and legacy of a man who served these islands with unwavering devotion.
“Si Yu’us Ma’åse, Olomwaay, God Bless you all and God Bless our beloved Commonwealth.”
