Deleon Guerrero slams officials’ broken promises

“When Fitial was campaigning with Timothy Villagomez, he promised the people that the [Commonwealth Utilities Corp.] fuel surcharge would be eliminated but it did not happen,” said Deleon Guerrero, an independent candidate for governor.

He said Fitial and the other  candidates who are in office can solve the CNMI’s problems.

These officials, he added, are making more promises when they cannot even solve the islands’ current problems.

He cited the lack of doctors at the Commonwealth Health Center as one of the CNMI’s major problems.

He also noted Saipan’s stray dog problem that the Department of Public Safety cannot address.

“Fitial should fire his DPS commissioner for poor management and for not doing his job properly,” the former senator said.

Deleon Guerrero and his running mate, former Education Commissioner David M. Borja, held their kickoff rally on Rota last Friday.

Taotao Tano president Greg Cruz, an independent senatorial candidate who supports Deleon Guerrero, said the rally was successful.

“Some people who were against us changed their minds,” he said.

He thanked the people of Rota for listening to Deleon Guerrero.

The former senator said the number of the people who attended their rally does not matter as long as their message is well-delivered.

He added that his opponents may claim that 3,000 people attended their rallies but “maybe the remaining 6,000 will be my supporters.”

Ben Del Rosario, an advocate for protecting indigenous rights on Guam and Rota, was also  present during the kickoff rally.
