State Minister Sandra Pierantozzi, in a letter to Casandra McKeown , Finance Director and co- founder Cleared Ground Demining said that she has assigned the Director of the Bureau of Domestic Affairs to secure consent and arrangements with the affected states in preparation for the visit.
The organization is an independent not-for-profit NGO that specializes in Explosive Remnants of War (ERW) Removal, Small Arms / Light Weapons Destruction and Landmine clearance solutions. The group wants to remove the unexploded ordnance in Peleliu and Angaur States .He said that the governors of these two states have also given their full support to the project with the request that able and available young people in the respective states be employed to assist in the project.The organization has secured a grant for the removal of immediate threats to the communities.
