(Hotel Association of the Northern Mariana Islands) – With this year’s 23rd Annual HANMI Charity Classic Golf Tournament rescheduled to Aug. 9, 2025, at LaoLao Bay Golf & Resort on Saipan, the hotel association is taking the time to thank its in-kind sponsors of the tournament.
“In addition to our cash sponsors, we want to acknowledge the many, many companies that have generously contributed in-kind donations to make this year’s tournament a success next week,” said tournament chairman William Retardo.
“From keeping players hydrated on the course to an amazing raffle prize lineup, our donors have just been extraordinary this year.”
While the tournament rules stipulate no refunds for cancellations or postponements due to acts of God — like last Saturday’s (July 26) inclement weather — Retardo said that due to tough economic times, the committee agreed to offer refunds through July 31.
“A few players gave up their slots to their friends or associates, which was also greatly appreciated,” he said.
The tournament is open to the first 144 paid registrants and follows a blackjack double Peoria format. A portion of this year’s proceeds will benefit the Commonwealth Cancer Association. The tournament fee includes an awards banquet at LaoLao Bay Golf & Resort immediately following the tournament, where a raffle will include a roundtrip ticket for Saipan-Incheon on Jeju Air and T’way, among other prizes.
