New investors occupy hotel’s 12th floor

Doing business as Xanadu Club Inc., the company has about 10 co-owners and has entered into a partnership with the United Micronesia Development Association, which owns Palms Resort.

Xanadu, which is into “rental and vacation homes,” got its business license last Jan. 12, and registered with the Division of Revenue and Taxation under the name of Nathan Benson.

Benson, in a telephone interview yesterday, said he has been off-island in the past several days so he has not fully communicated with the Xanadu investors regarding the details of their business.

“For now, they appeared to have been keeping things to themselves,” Benson said.

All he knows at this point is that Xanadu is an investment club targeting clients from China.

He said his role is to help the investors set up  business here and introduce them to the local people.

Xanadu CEO James Chow said he was “too busy” to answer this reporter’s questions yesterday.
