Patrol Division Chief Ismael Aguon said that the first burglary and grand larceny incident was reported to the police on September 24 at 4:45 pm.
The police report indicated that the burglar gain entry to the Headstart and stole several frozen ground beefs, milk, cereals, eggs and can goods.The second incident of burglary and grand larceny was reported on September 25 at 7:55 am.The burglar managed to steal three packs of frozen beefs.Meanwhile, Aguon said six other theft incidents were also reported to the police last week.On September 24, a customer walked in to a store in Meketii and grabbed a bag of chips and left without paying for it.A security for Bayside reported that his bicycle which was parked in Madelaii was stolen on Friday morning.A woman called police Friday night and reported that someone broke the padlock and gain entry to a store in Dngeronger and took several clothing and packs of cigarettes. The suspect also managed to open the cash box but failed to find money.A man reported on Saturday morning that someone broke into his apartment in Ikelau and stole his wallet containing $150 cash, driver’s license and Identification Cards.A woman reported that someone went to her residence in Ngerbeched and harvested her betel nut trees.A man also reported on Sunday night that someone went to his farm in Airai and harvested his betel nut trees.Aguon said burglary and theft incidents is on the rise again and Bureau of Public Safety is asking for the community’s assistance to call any information that would lead to the arrest of the suspects.Anyone who has information can call Police or Crime Stoppers at 488847.
