The two comedians had the audience rolling with laughter as they delivered punchlines, mimicked various personalities with audience participation.
All tickets were sold out as early as Friday and the organizers kept getting calls from people who wanted to see the show.
Digital Motion production manager Edwin Sta. Theresa said that because of the success of the show, they may bring in more entertainers from the Philippines.
“We are looking forward to invite Filipino pop star princess Sarah Geronimo early next year, but we have to look for a bigger place to accommodate everybody,” Sta. Theresa said.
Producers printed 150 VIP and 500 general admission tickets.
“We were swamped with calls and walk-in clients who wanted to buy tickets on Saturday, but we had no more tickets to sell,” Sta. Theresa said.
“We were sorry for the long line of people who were unable to buy tickets, but we let them enter after the show began.”
In a press briefing on Saturday noon, Diaz said he had performed four times on Guam but it was his first time to come to Saipan.
“In these times of economic depression, we are happy to be instrumental in making the people laugh and giving them diversions from the daily grind of life,” Diaz said.
Diaz, who only got three hours sleep after the trip, was the only one who showed up for the press briefing at the 360 Revolving Restaurant.
The two were scheduled to leave yesterday as Vice Ganda had several out-of-town gigs in the Philippines.
Diaz also had to be back in Manila for the taping of his TV show on ABS-CBN.
Sponsors for the show included IT&E, Magic 100, Shell Marianas, Bud Light, Tan Siu Lin Foundation, 360 Revolving Restaurant Saipan, Budget Car Rental, Tramcor, Aquarius Beach Tower, Traders Insurance Company and Shirley’s Coffee Shop.
Brad Ruszala of IT&E and Reynaldo Gabriel, more popularly known as Hapi the Clown, were the hosts for the night.
