“We look forward to working closely with the officers to truly realize NMC’s ‘Students First’ philosophy,” Fernandez said.
The college, she added, is fortunate to have “such as dedicated group of volunteer leaders who are committed to student excellence.”

ASNMC is the representative body of all students enrolled at the college.
It serves as a forum for all students, allowing them to be directly involved in shared governance and participatory decision-making at the college.
It also appoints members of the NMC College Council, the Budget and Finance Committee, the Planning, Program Review and Outcomes Assessment Committee as well as other shared governance groups.
The president of ASNMC also sits on the board of regents as a nonvoting honorary member.
The induction ceremony for the new officers will be held at the college on Sept. 25 during NMC’s performance report to the public and its accreditation celebration.
