(Commonwealth Healthcare Corp.) — As of March 17, 2022, there were five individuals hospitalized as a result of Covid-19: three were unvaccinated, and two were fully vaccinated.
CHCC also reported on Thursday evening that 59 additional individuals had been confirmed positive for Covid-19, bringing the CNMI total to 10,634 cases since March 28, 2020.
Of the 59 cases, 58 were identified on March 16, 2022, and one prior to March 16, 2022. Eight were identified on Tinian on March 16, 2022.
A total of 22 Covid-19 vaccine shots were administered on March 17, 2022. Of the eligible population, 58.3% have received an additional dose. The vaccination rate is calculated using the 2020 Census population estimates for the CNMI and includes the eligible 5-year-olds and older population. A correction has been made.
The vaccination statuses of the 59 new cases identified are pending verification.
A total of 465 Covid-19 tests were conducted on March 16, 2022:
293 via Community-Based Testing;
17 at Koblerville Covid-19 Community Center;
17 at Tinian Health Center; and
138 at Rota Health Center.

Of the total cases identified, as of March 16, 2022, there were 10,397 recoveries and 206 active cases.
Of the cases, 9,884 were identified via community testing and 750 through travel testing.
Since March 2020, there have been 31 Covid-19-related deaths in the CNMI.
