CONTAINERS filled with used cooking oil were dumped on private property in Chalan Kanoa, community volunteer Max Aguon said.
It was local resident Pete Palacios who alerted Aguon about the containers on Monday.
Aguon said he immediately brought the containers to the transfer station in Lower Base.
“Used oil is harmful to soil quality,” he added.
Aguon has also found other containers filled with used cooking oil in different public beach areas on island.
He is once again asking the community’s cooperation in keeping the environment safe and clean by complying with the anti-littering law.
“Please dispose [of] your trash and used household items/materials properly — it’s the right thing to do,” Aguon said.
