SHERLYN Jones showed not only finesse but power in claiming the Amigos Golf Club’s January Ace of the Month title with a net score of 139 at the Kingfisher Golf Links.
On day one, which was held on Jan. 9, she shot a gross total of 81. With a handicap of 13, her net score was 68.
It was a bit tougher during the second day of the tournament when she closed the course with a gross of 84 which, with a 13 handicap, gave her a net score of 71 and a total net of 139 — good enough for first place.
In second place was Ned Norita who, with a 7 handicap, showcased his skills by ending day one with a net score of 70. He garnered the same net score on the second day for a total net score of 140.
Dung Tenorio, for his part, finished third. He has a 5 handicap and shot a net score of 69 on day one and 72 on day two for a net total of 141.
For the Par 3 side event, Ricky Sablan took hole #6; Joe Sablan Jr. topped hole #8; Ben Jones Jr. ruled hole #12; and Janet Torres was supreme on hole #15. Each winner received $170.
The February qualifier will be held on Sunday, Feb. 6, starting at 8:30 a.m. at the Kingfisher Golf Links.
