SUMMER is going out in style this year as Marpac Inc. and a powerhouse group of community partners gear up to host the Budweiser Burger Fest — a sizzling celebration of food, fun, and friendly competition — on Saturday, Aug. 2, at Marianas Beach Resort.
Set against the backdrop of sun, sand, and partygoers, the event kicks off at 1 p.m. and runs through 7 p.m., promising a jam-packed afternoon of activities and entertainment for all ages. From the fire of the grill to the intensity of the court, Budweiser Burger Fest brings together some of the island’s most beloved pastimes in one high-energy showcase.
Attendees can expect a grilling showdown featuring mouthwatering burgers, sizzling meats, and expert flair from both amateur and professional chefs in the Budweiser King of the Grill competition.
A maximum of eight two-person grill teams will compete for the title of Best Certified Angus Beef Burger. Meat will be provided by Triple J Saipan, but teams must bring their own grill, tools, condiments, additional ingredients, and presentation items (plates, napkins, etc.). Registration begins at 1 p.m.; the competition runs from 3 to 4 p.m., followed by judging at 4:10 p.m.
But the flavor fest doesn’t stop there.
A full slate of sporting events will ignite the beachside atmosphere, including a Cornhole tournament (hosted by the CNMI Cornhole Association), Pickleball matches (organized by the Pickleball Federation of the Northern Mariana Islands), Run Saipan’s 4th Annual Michelob Ultra Beer Mile (featuring the Beer Sprint, Beer Mile, and Corporate Challenge 4×4 relay), and paddleboard and skateboard competitions (led by the Marianas Surf Skate League).
The day’s festivities will unfold across the beach, garden, and tennis court areas of Marianas Beach Resort Hotel, creating a vibrant hub of activity for families, athletes, and grill-masters alike.
In addition, Marpac’s ongoing Budweiser “Sun’s Out, Bud’s Out” promotion will award an all-expense-paid trip for one lucky winner and a guest to Yankee Stadium to watch the Yankees vs. Red Sox on Aug. 22.
