Responding to this growing need, Ryan D.S. Calvo, general manager and owner of RyVO Upgrade Technology and a former employee of the Public School System technology department, decided to put up his own shop and has been servicing computers in his apartment in As Lito for the past five years.
Late last year, Calvo decided it was time to expand and move to a new location, one where clients can easily find and drop in for their computer needs.
“The economy is hard, and every business has been affected but we are managing to stay afloat. With the computer business, everything is evolving very fast, and a lot of people are trying to keep up with the trend,” Calvo said.
His clients get not only the best service but advice and recommendations when they are undecided or have no idea what products to buy.
“For example, if clients ask us what’s the best computer or models to buy, we make recommendations to meet the particular client’s needs,” Calvo said. This means that RyVO Upgrade Technology tailors their products to whatever needs a client has.

RyVO Upgrade Technology offers computer sales, computer repair, parts and accessories such as keyboards, mouse, USB ports, monitors, printers and other computer needs, networking service, data back-up, and more.
They also offer cleaning services both for hardware and software for PC’s and laptops.
“We can clean your computers from viruses and spyware and clean it to prevent breakdowns, slow start-ups, and recondition your units so they will function like new,” he said.
He added that PCs and laptops are important tools and expensive investments and things like grime, accumulated dirt, dust buildups and other contaminants can ruin its performance,” Calvo said.
Calvo said that they can pick up computer units that need repair if the clients don’t have time to deliver the unit to their shop. He said that he also entertains clients that call him on the phone to ask questions about their computers.
“This is part of the quality customer service that we want to maintain with our clients,” Calvo said.

RyVO Upgrade Technology is located on the ground floor of Ace Building beside Paradise Island Veterinary Hospital on Middle Road in San Jose.
