Yes, I understand completely the reasons why it should be turned over to a private company, but how can that happen when the majority of Call-A-Ride’s budget goes to operational expenses for maintaining the Call-A-Ride van and salaries for the two drivers?
I hope that if the Office of the Public Auditor finds any wrongdoing in the way the program operates, it will not hamper the services of Call-A-Ride.
Whatever problems the disabilities council board and Governor Fitial have should be dealt with appropriately and maturely.
I am a Call-A-Ride consumer. Please solve this problem and not put the customers at risk of losing this vital service because of problems beyond our control.
If no non-profit organization wants to assume responsibility of this program then it should, in the interest of fairness, remain with the council for disabilities.
