I believe Dr. Borja was given his walking papers largely due to his beliefs and decisions made in what is now known as the “Rota Situation.”
Dr. Borja made those decisions with the information he was presented and knowledge of those involved and this is one of the responsibilities of his job and not BOE’s.
Some of the BOE members seemed to disagree with his decisions and since he did not kowtow to those certain board members the wheels were put in motion to oust him.
In spite of what his detractors say, I feel he was very good at his job and with the current CNMI mess we are in, I do not think anybody in his position could do a better job.
Once again it looks to me as politics and personal agendas rule the CNMI.
To Dr. Borja you can be on my team any day and I wish you the best in whichever direction you choose in life.
