RETIREES are being “poli-tricked” again, as the Governor recently stated that retirees would get a $500 bonus” but in reality WE Retirees are supposed to be getting a “cost of living increase” to our fixed income. In past years retirees have been getting $1,400 per year but the language has been changed from “a cost-of-living increase to a bonus” which is WRONG! This is how our Governor deflects the real responsibility to retirees and gaslights the issue by changing the narrative to make it seem like retirees are getting something extra when in reality it is a supplement to our income due to the continued rise in the cost of living, especially when it’s clear all of America is experiencing “INFLATION.”
It also seems the Legislature is going along with shafting the retirees out of their full cost of living increase. WHY was the cost of living increased changed and even DECREASED from prior years when it’s clear this amount should be increasing! Now retirees are only getting 500 which is 900 short from what retirees have gotten and should be getting while the Governor and Lt. Governor take off to places unknown on OUR dollar so they don’t have to deal with the fall-out and the reality of retirees being shafted. I hope retirees will take note and vote Democrat after this recent poli-tricking that shafted retirees out of 900. It also gets WORSE when it comes to the Governor really delivering FOR retirees and all the People of the CNMI, as WE still have NO viable plan to revive our economy coming from the Governor but I’m sure Rep. Tina Sablan will deliver in grand style FOR the People.
JUSTICE by Judges but Our AG is the big QUESTION!
I was sooooo glad to see the Judges in our Justice System flat out refuse to even hear the Governor’s Law Suit — THANK YOU and KUDOS to YOU Judges! You don’t have to be a judge or a lawyer to see the Governor was poli-tricking with our Justice System and our Judges flat out refuse to be part of his ugly scheme. The bigger question is WHAT is our AG going to do about the TWO Contempt Charges that are on his desk. One would think that justice would be swift and decisive when it comes to the contempt of a Legislative Process that is authorized under the CNMI’s and the Federal Constitutions! The Governor and his Executive Assistant are both in Contempt of the Legislature’s Subpoena and WE the People are clearly watching and waiting to see WHAT our Attorney General is going to do, for TRUE!
Given the action taken by the Judges, it should be a simple and clear matter for the AG to prosecute the Governor and his Executive Assistant but only time will tell what he is going to do. The Governor is making a “MOCKERY” of our JGO, our Constitution and now the Judicial System, which I’m sure is WHY he is facing possible RICO Charges by the Feds. The funny thing is that the Governor is following the SAME strategy of TRUMP with his claims that I truly pray will put both of them in the SAME Cell together one-day when this is all over. This Governor really has some nerves to take the JGO to Court after PROMISING to explain and SWEARING he had nothing to hide. I know that most of us with common sense can see from this recent poli-trick to get the Court’s help that the Governor thinks our Judges and the rest of us-in-the-cheap-seats are really stupid. I can only hope and pray for the sake of our Commonwealth that the voters have gotten smart and become part of the “SILENT MAJORITY who will vote Democrat,” especially those in government jobs. WE the People must take-back our Government from the Torres Family who are enriching themselves while shafting us regular folks. One people One Direction.
