Heading back to Garapan, we remembered we haven’t tried Café at the Park yet, and we were sure it was open.
We were not disappointed. The appetizing aroma of food and the friendly smiles of some friends, including Café at the Park owner Gabriel Boyer met us when we pushed open the doors.
We headed to a table at the farthest end and browsed the menu a cheerful wait staffer handed us.
Pressed for time, I decided to try the Loco Moco from the main entrées for $8.95 and did not regret my choice. I started out with the vegetable soup that came with my order. In a few minutes, my Loco Moco which was grilled beef patty sitting on a bed of steamed rice and topped with fried egg and soya cream sauce was served.
My buddies ordered the Sunday lunch special which was crispy yet tender fried chicken bits garnished with bell pepper and onions, a serving of rice and soup or salad.
After lunch, Boyer tempted us to try the Frappuccino Mocha and we easily gave in. My buddies tried the Frappuccino Hazelnut and Coffee Latte — a perfect way to cap a hearty lunch. If you have the luxury of time, Café at the Park is the perfect place to be.
