GIG Nightclub Oasis is throwing it back on Saturday, Aug. 12 with the 90s Throwback Party.
Lisa Ficke, GIG creative director, said she and the team at the pyramid are ready to show why they’ve been a fixture of Saipan nightlife for years.
“We’re very excited for 90’s night!” Ficke said. “GIG was erected in the 90’s, and we want to celebrate that era. It’ll be a throwback night for everyone who partied at GIG in the 90’s! GIG is special because it’s a monumental place on Saipan that connects so many different people of different generations with their own stories from their glory days.”
Ficke said happy hour drink specials happen at the Oasis from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and then continue inside GIG from 9 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Mixed drinks will be $3 and beers will be $2 while on promo. Jello shots are just $1 all night long at Oasis and GIG while supplies last, and a free celebratory shot is getting passed around at 12:30 a.m.
Ficke said DJ Davey G, who used to spin the records at GIG back in the 90s, will return for one night only to keep the nostalgia going with the sounds of the 90s.
Ficke invites party goers to come in their best-dressed 90s attire for a chance to win free entrance to GIG for the rest of 2023.
“I’ve come to realize that GIG is so much bigger than any one moment in time,” Fickle said. “It’s a part of everyone’s coming of age and young adult story here on Saipan. It’s also so well known throughout our tourism industry and has always been THE place for tourists to party the night away while they’re on vacation!”
