Public School System marks Anti-Bullying Week
(HJHS) — Feb 22-26 is Anti-Bullying Week across the Public School System.
At Hopwood Junior High School, teachers and students are organizing this campaign by creating posters, banners, skits, and essays to raise awareness of bullying and to strategize ways to stop it.
The theme this year for middle school is SEE IT, STOP IT, BEAT IT!
This Friday morning at 8:30 a.m., Hopwood is gathering all its students to do a roadside wave and display the banners at the front of their gate.
Afterward, the students will participate in a rally on the school stage, viewing skits and performances directed at ending bullying and harassment.
Officer Jason Tarkong will speak to the students about forms of bullying and safe ways to prevent or stop it.
On Friday afternoon, all public schools across the island are invited to join the Anti-Bullying Parade that will start at American Memorial Park at 4:30 p.m. and end at the Carolinian Utt by 7 p.m.
