10 hospitalizations; 29 additional Covid-19 cases

(Commonwealth Healthcare Corp.) — As of March 7, 2022, there were 10 individuals hospitalized as a result of Covid-19:

Eight were vaccinated, and two were partially vaccinated.

One of 10 was on a ventilator.

CHCC on Monday evening said  29 additional individuals had been confirmed positive for Covid-19, bringing the CNMI total to 10,155 cases since March 26, 2020. Some duplicates have been deleted.

Of the 29 cases identified:

24 were identified on March 6, 2022, and five prior to March 6, 2022.

Individuals who test positive for Covid-19 should stay home and isolate when they are sick (except to get medical care), even if they do not have symptoms. Rest, stay hydrated and take over-the-counter medicines, such as acetaminophen or ibuprofen, to relieve symptoms. Live Covid-19 safe.

Report your Covid-19 positive test result online at www.staysafecnmi.com/self-reporting within 5-6 days of your positive test result for a copy of your quarantine completion certificate.

A total of 37 Covid-19 vaccine shots were administered on March 7, 2022. Of the eligible population, 57.4% have received an additional dose. The vaccination rate is calculated using the 2020 Census population estimates for the CNMI and includes the eligible 5-year-olds and older population.

The vaccination statuses of the 29 new cases identified are pending verification.

A total of 113 Covid-19 tests were conducted on March 6, 2022:

79 via Community-Based Testing;

29 at Koblerville Covid-19 Community Center; and

5 at Rota Health Center.

Of the total cases identified, as of March 6, 2022, there had been 9,691 recoveries  and 434 active cases.

9,469 of the cases were identified via community testing, 686 through travel testing.

Since March 2020, there have been 30 Covid-19-related deaths in the CNMI.
