Patrol Division Chief Ismael Aguon said that the estimated value of stolen copper wire is $1,000.
Aguon said initial investigation disclosed that someone broke into the establishment and stole the copper wire. The incident was reported to the police at 11:15 am on June 5.Several theft incidents were also reported to the police on June 4 through June 7.A hotel guest lost a video camera when someone went to the guest room on June 6. A man also lost cash and jewelry when an unidentified person went to his room at his residence in Ngetmeduch. He lost $1, 100 cash, sunglasses and jewelry.A Japanese restaurant in Ngerbeched also lost several cases of beer and a bottle of liquor when someone broke into their restaurant over the weekend.A man also lost $200 cash to a thief when the latter went to his office on June 7.A woman went to Midtown gas station on June 4 and bought items using her credit card.When the card was declined, the woman promised to come back but she did not come back anymore running away some $69 worth of purchased items.A man purchased items at the WCTC on six separate occasions with his checks.The establishment was informed later that the check bounced due to insufficient account and the account was already closed.A car was stolen from a residence in Iyebukel on June 5.A woman called police and reported that someone broke into their Laundromat in Ngesekes and stole coins from the machine.A man walked in to the police station and reported that a young man borrowed his cell phone and run away later with his cell phone.Aguon would like to remind the public to list down the serial number of their valuable properties so that in the event that it will be stolen, it could be easily trace down because of its serial number.He is also asking the public’s assistance for any information that would lead to the arrest of a person involved in crimes.
