2 men charged with theft enters not guilty plea

Clint Nakamura and Joash Along appeared for arraignment on Friday with Public Defender Jason Shaw.

Assistant Attorney General Tony De Ruiz appeared on behalf of the government.Nakamura and Along entered a not guilty plea to two counts of grand larceny and receiving stolen property.Nakamura posted $1,000 surety bond while Along posted $250 surety bond.The status conference hearing is set for September 25 at 9 am in Melekeok.Nakamura was charged with two counts of grand larceny for stealing Blaupunk CD player, tennis bag, tennis racket, Puma tennis shoes and two packs of PENN tennis balls from the vehicle of Marlon Vega.Along was charged with one count of receiving stolen property for getting the CD player from co-defendant Nakamura.The affidavit submitted in court stated that the victim’s car was parked at the parking lot of WCTC on May 22 when Nakamura unlocked the car and stole the victim’s belongings.The document stated that Nakamura admitted of stealing the items. He also admitted that he also stole the victim’s car speaker on April 30.
