2021 PSS Teacher of the Year Bonny Cruz meets President Biden

First lady Jill Biden hosted a ceremony Monday on the South Lawn of the White House to honor the nation’s outstanding educators, among them, Bonny Cruz of the CNMI Public School System. According to AP, President Joe Biden made an unannounced appearance to meet with and commend the educators. He also presented awards shaped like an apple to 2021 National Teacher of the Year Juliana Urtubey, a special education teacher at Kermit R. Booker Sr. Innovative Elementary School in Las Vegas; and 2020 National Teacher of the Year Tabatha Rosproy, a preschool teacher at Winfield Early Learning Center in Winfield, Kansas.
