(CHCC) — The Governor’s Covid-19 Task Force and the Commonwealth Healthcare Corporation confirmed the CNMI’s 27th Covid-19-related death on Tuesday evening.
As of Feb. 22, 2022, there were 8 individuals hospitalized as a result of Covid-19:
2 unvaccinated, 4 vaccinated, 2 partially vaccinated.
2 of 8 were on a ventilator.
171 additional individuals have been confirmed positive for Covid-19, bringing the CNMI total to 8,882 cases since March 26, 2020.
Of the 171 cases identified:
170 were identified on Feb. 21, 2022, and 1 prior to Feb. 21, 2022.
6 were identified on Tinian.
A total of 65 Covid-19 vaccine shots were administered on Feb. 22, 2022. Of the eligible population, 56% have received an additional dose. The vaccination rate is calculated using the 2020 Census population estimates for the CNMI and includes the eligible 5-year-olds and older population.
The vaccination statuses of the 171 new cases identified are pending verification.
A total of 610 Covid-19 tests were conducted on Feb. 21, 2022:
395 via Community-Based Testing;
178 at Koblerville Covid-19 Community Center;
20 at Tinian Health Center; and
17 at Rota Health Center.

Of the total cases identified, as of Feb. 21, 2022, there were 7,569 recoveries and 1,286 active cases.
8,245 of the cases were identified via community testing and 637 through travel testing.
