(CHCC) — Forty-three additional individuals were confirmed positive for Covid-19, bringing the CNMI total to 4,014 cases since March 26, 2020, the Commonwealth Healthcare Corp. reported on Tuesday evening.
The individuals have been isolated and are actively monitored.
Of the 43 cases identified on Jan. 17, 2022:
28 were identified via contact tracing, 5 via community testing, 10 via travel testing, 2 on Tinian, and 2 on Rota.
As of Jan. 18, 2022, there were 7 individuals hospitalized as a result of Covid-19:
4 were unvaccinated, 3 vaccinated, and 2 had been discharged.
A total of 158 Covid-19 vaccines were administered on Jan. 18, 2022, resulting in 98% of the CNMI’s eligible population being fully vaccinated.
The vaccination statuses of the 43 new cases identified are pending verification.
A total of 704 Covid-19 tests were conducted on Jan. 17, 2022:
• 570 community-based testing
• 75 at the Covid-19 Community Center (referrals only)
• 39 at Tinian Health Center
• 20 at Rota Health Center
Of the total cases identified, as of Jan. 17, 2022, there had been 3,582 recoveries and 411 active cases.
1,833 of the cases were identified via contact tracing; 1,729, community testing; and 452, travel testing.
There have been 21 Covid-19-related deaths since March 2020
