A traditional dance performed by the women’s group in Airai started the festivities as the opening program. Tmewang Rengulbai, Delegate of Airai State to the House of Delegates gave his welcoming remarks followed by the inaugural address of Gov. Victoria Kanai.
In her remarks, Kanai listed her master plan which will be implemented during her term in office that according to her will benefit the people of Airai.
President Johnson Toribiong also attended the inauguration and delivered his remarks.
The inauguration was conducted whole day with various entertainment and activities being prepared by the personnel of Airai State Government. Vice president Kerai Mariur, State Minister Victor Yano, Senators, Governors from other States, Diplomats among others also attended the event.
The inauguration was held followed by the swearing in of the elected officials on April 5.
