According to the bill, the OEK finds in necessary to adjust the salary of the members of the Executive Branch.
Baules recommended that the President’s salary will be increased from $50,000 to $100,000; Vice President from $45,000 to $70,000 and ministers from $30,000 to $45,000.The bill also recommended that the president direct the Minister of Finance to submit to the Olbiil Era Kelulau, no later than 45 days after the effective date of this Act,” recommendations for salary increases and cost of living adjustments for all government employees to better reflect current economic conditions. The Minister of Finance shall provide recommendations for new sources of funding for these salary increases and cost of living adjustments.”The bill further recommended that the Act once approved shall be applies retroactively to January 15, 2009.
