The Gates Millennium Scholar program is designed to identify young people of color who have exceptional potential and to develop them to become great leaders who will contribute significantly to building a better society. After being chosen from one of the many thousand students across the nation, Chasmon will receive a full-ride scholarship to college where he plans to attend at the University of Washington next school year. With the prestigious achievement and in addition to paying for college, the Gates Millennium Scholarship program offers leadership development with personal, academic, and professional growth opportunities including mentoring services.
