Community support quantifies value of contributions

According to Singeo, the willingness of community members and volunteers to participate, support, and make sacrifices towards Ebiil Society Inc. (ESI) quantified the value of the monetary and in-kind contributions to this year’s Ebiil Summer Camp.The 2008 Ebiil Summer Camp began on July 20 and concluded on July 27.15 counselors – young people who enlisted in previous Ebiil camp – ran the camp for 34 campers ranging from age 10 to 14.According to Singeo, the counselors did an extremely tremendous job.She said that the counselors have proven that experience does make room for improvements. Furthermore, the campers, their parents, and volunteers commended the counselors for the success of the camp.“I, on behalf of the members of Ebiil Society Inc., would like to congratulate the counselors for the success of this year’s camp,” she said. “But most of all, I am humbled and indebted, but extremely happy and grateful of the residents Ollei for enduring and bearing most of volunteer support of the camp; the many other citizens of NgarchelongState who anonymously contributed support; and all of the campers who made all of the effort worthwhile.”Bridgette Adachi, ESI’s treasurer/secretary, further added that similar gratitude is extended to the following: Shell Palau for its generous donation of fuel and food supplies; Koror State Government for food, drinks, and miscellaneous camp supplies; Asanuma Enterprises for food and camp supplies; Delegate Kerai Mariur for food supplies; Obak Er a Iyebukel Lorenzo Ngiramolau for food and drinks; Yoichi Singeo for food supplies and for sponsoring camp fishing derby prize; Fabian Iyar for drinks; Jennifer Renguul for food supplies; Grace Singeo for food supplies; Ann Singeo for food supplies; Elin Kloulechad for food supplies; Tina Rehuher for monetary contribution; Rumi S. Reklai for sponsoring 2nd prize of camp fishing derby; Don Bukurrou for sponsoring 3rd, 4th, and 5th prize of camp fishing derby; Vice-President Elias C. Chin for providing bus transportation; Public Health (MOH) for providing fuel and camp supplies; Bureau of Marine Resources for donating 1000 baby clams and 25 trochus for planting; JB Express for food supplies; Bngal a Klikm for food supplies; Chatt Renguul for use of his truck; and BWA, PCS, TNC, PICRC, Ngiwal State, and Melekeok State for providing the expert presentations.“We thank everyone for the generous support of the camp,” Adachi said, “and as the kids put it, ‘you rock!’”
