4th Annual CNMI Ocean Month Cleanup on June 19

(DCRM) — The Division of Coastal Resources Management, in collaboration with the Mariana Islands Nature Alliance and Marianas Surf and Skate League, is pleased to invite community members to participate in the 4th Annual Ocean Month Cleanup on Wednesday, June 19.

This event aims to promote environmental stewardship and community engagement by cleaning up our beautiful coastlines. Volunteers of all ages are encouraged to join the activity at 8:30 a.m. at the following locations across Saipan: Wing Beach, Fishing Base, Coral Ocean Point, Obyan Beach, and Tank Beach.

Cleanup supplies, such as gloves and trash bags, and trash hauling services will be generously provided by DCRM and MINA. Participants are encouraged to bring reusable water bottles and wear sun protection. Water jugs for refilling will be available at each location.

“We are excited to host the 4th Annual Ocean Month Cleanup and welcome everyone to join us in ridding our coastlines and waterways of marine debris,” said Colleen Flores, CNMI Ocean Month co-chair. “Together, our efforts can make a significant impact in keeping our island clean and protecting our ocean habitats.”

For more information on the cleanup, contact Colleen Flores at cflores@dcrm.gov.mp or call (670) 664-8300.

“Join us in making a difference for our oceans!”
