Saipan International School’s 5th Grade Kindness Crew sold hand-made lollipops to raise funds for the Saipan Cares for Animals organization.
THE 5th Grade Kindness Crew, led by teacher Doris Rioux-Materne at Saipan International School has successfully concluded their heartwarming initiative, “Buy One Lollipop, Save One Dog,” which aimed to support local animals in need.
According to Grade 5 teacher Daryn Roufs, “This compassionate project not only showcased the students’ love for animals but also highlighted the essential support from teachers in the elementary school, who guided and inspired the students throughout the process. Thank you to Mrs. Doris for all of the effort and help with the Kindness Crew and leading them to take positive action within the community!”
The Kindness Crew took great pride in showing leadership throughout the process of creating hand-made lollipops to sell. The 5th graders sold the lollipops during recess, attracting students from all grades eager to enjoy a sweet snack while contributing to a noble cause. Thanks to the overwhelming support from the school community, 5th graders were able to contribute and support the Saipan Cares for Animals organization.
This initiative became a true school-wide effort, demonstrating the power of kindness and teamwork. Teachers played a crucial role helping students organize their activities and encouraging them to engage with the community.
