(DCRM) — The Division of Coastal Resources Management is delighted to invite the community to join us for two memorable events as part of the 4th Annual CNMI Ocean Month celebrations.
Ocean-Themed Movie Night at Sugar Dock Beach
Kick off the festivities with an Ocean-Themed Movie Night at Sugar Dock Beach, Chalan Kanoa, on Friday, June 28, 2024. The evening begins with the family favorite “A Turtle’s Tale: Sammy’s Adventures” (Rated PG) screening at 7 p.m., followed by the iconic thriller “Jaws” (Rated R) at 9 p.m. Bring your blankets or chairs and enjoy an unforgettable night under the stars. Snacks will be available for purchase from Island Snow.
4th Annual Saipan Ocean Fair at Micro Beach
Join us for the 4th Annual Saipan Ocean Fair on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at Micro Beach, Garapan, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. This exciting event will feature:
• Local artistry showcasing sustainable and locally made artworks.
• Educational booths offering insights into marine conservation and sustainability.
• Small business booths featuring ocean-themed products.
• Food and beverage vendors offering delicious local snacks.
• Boat show showcasing marine vessels.
“This year’s events are designed to celebrate the beauty and importance of our oceans while promoting community involvement in marine conservation efforts,” said Colleen Flores, CNMI Ocean Month co-chair of DCRM. “We invite everyone to come out and enjoy these engaging activities to learn more about our ocean heritage and to become active environmental stewards.”
Both events are free and open to the public, offering opportunities for all ages to learn, explore, and appreciate the wonders of our oceans.
