Four brilliant middle school students from the CNMI showcased their mathematical prowess on a grand scale at the mathleague.org Nationals on April 13, 2024 in Houston, Texas. Despite traveling the furthest among the 94 participating schools from 27 states, these young mathematicians displayed remarkable resilience and determination. Their efforts were rewarded as they clinched an impressive 5th place in the Team Sweepstakes category. Team CNMI’s achievement not only highlights their individual talents but also underscores the potential of mathematics education in the region. Team CNMI consists of Jinhyun Choi (Saipan International School, 8th grade), Hans Ordas (Grace Christian Academy, 7th grade), Weihang Chen (Agape Christian School, 8th grade), and Jiayu Qiu (Eucon International School, 6th grade).
