Dr. Basimalla brings a distinguished record of leadership and expertise in library science and Christian education.

Holding a Ph.D. in Library Science from Andhra University, India, and decades of international experience — including key roles as head librarian at Nord Anglia School in Guangzhou and teacher-librarian positions in Hong Kong and China — Dr. Basimalla is uniquely qualified to lead EUCON’s growing library resources into a new era of excellence.

EUCON’s library is already recognized as the CNMI’s most extensive theological collection, and with Dr. Basimalla’s guidance, it is poised to become the premier theological and biblical research center in the entire Pacific region.

His recent achievement of a Master of Theology degree (May 2025) further equips him to serve not only as head librarian but also as a faculty member in Theology and Biblical Studies at both EUCON International University and EUCON International School. This dual role strengthens EUCON’s mission to combine rigorous academics with a strong biblical foundation.

Joining Dr. Basimalla is his wife, Mary Sujatha Maddirala, an accomplished international science educator with over 12 years of global teaching experience. With advanced degrees in Education (M.Ed.), Zoology (M.Sc.), and Psychology (M.Sc.), Mary has taught Biology in prestigious international programs including IBDP, IGCSE, and A-Level curricula in Hong Kong and China. At EIU and EIS, she will serve as a Science Instructor and Education Specialist, bringing exceptional expertise and a passion for inspiring the next generation of scientists.

Advancing the vision of the University Town

The arrival of these two distinguished educators marks a pivotal step in EUCON’s bold University Town vision — a transformative plan to establish Saipan as a Pacific hub for world-class higher education and global partnerships. In collaboration with leading Asian universities, EUCON is developing an integrated global education system designed to attract international investors seeking the best educational opportunities for their children.

“Quality education is a key driver of economic transformation,” said Dr. Christian Wei, president of EUCON International University. “By providing an education environment that meets global standards and nurtures spiritual and academic excellence, EUCON not only supports CNMI’s economic diversification but also offers investors a compelling reason to build their future here.”

The University Town will provide an unparalleled educational ecosystem, ensuring that the children of investors and local families alike receive a world-class, biblically grounded education. This initiative aligns with EUCON’s commitment to empower the CNMI economy, create high-value jobs, and build an internationally connected learning community.

With Dr. Solomon Basimalla and Mary Sujatha Maddirala joining the EUCON faculty, the university takes a decisive step toward realizing its vision: to become the Pacific’s leading center for theological scholarship and global education excellence.
