(NMIS) — Northern Marianas International School students participated in the CNMI Bureau of Environmental and Coastal Quality’s Environmental Awareness Month Expo on April 11, 2024. The event, which took place at the NMI Museum of History & Culture, brought schools and organizations from across the CNMI together to celebrate and promote environmental conservation.
The expo featured booths showcasing various environmental initiatives and educational displays, and NMIS students took advantage of the opportunity to immerse themselves in eco-awareness and engage with the community. With guidance from their teachers and mentors, they interacted with representatives from local environmental organizations, government agencies, and advocacy groups, gaining insights into various environmental issues and solutions.
Through lively discussions, thoughtful questions, and hands-on activities provided by exhibitors, students deepened their understanding of key environmental concepts and explored opportunities for meaningful action. They also shared their knowledge and insights with fellow students serving as ambassadors for environmental education and inspiring others to embrace eco-friendly behaviors and attitudes.
After the expo, NMIS students continued to build upon their experiences by integrating environmental education and spearheading initiatives to promote sustainability within their school and community. Through ongoing engagement and collaboration, they are working towards creating a more environmentally conscious and resilient future for the CNMI.
The participation of NMIS students in the CNMI Environmental Awareness Month Expo exemplifies their dedication to learning, leadership, and positively impacting the world around them.
