Nominations now open for 2025 Bridge of Light Award

THE Northern Marianas Coalition Against Domestic & Sexual Violence is calling on the community to help recognize individuals who are making a difference in the lives of victims and survivors of domestic and sexual violence in the CNMI.

Nominations are now open for the 2025 Bridge of Light Award, which honors one outstanding individual who has shown exceptional dedication to supporting victims, educating the community, and promoting safety across the islands.

“Every step toward safety and healing begins with someone who chooses to stand up. The Bridge of Light Award honors that courage,” said Kiki I. Benjamin, associate director of NMCADSV.

Nominees must be affiliated with an agency, organization, or office in the CNMI and have at least one year of service. Eligible nominees include service providers, first responders, advocates, volunteers, or representatives who have made significant contributions in areas such as victim support, prevention, public awareness, or resource development.

Nominations may be submitted by anyone, including victims, survivors, their families, coworkers, or members of the community. Submissions will be carefully reviewed based on the information provided, so nominators are encouraged to provide detailed explanations about why their nominee deserves to be recognized.

The deadline to submit a nomination is Friday, September 12, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. ChST. The recipient of this year’s award will be announced during the Domestic Violence Awareness Month proclamation signing ceremony in October. The awardee will also be given the opportunity to attend a national training provided by NMCADSV and receive a special self-care gift package.
