Continental Micronesia officials based in Guam and Manila paid a courtesy call to the Executive Branch yesterday and announced their plans to arrive in Palau from Manila daytime.
President Johnson Toribiong said that although the new schedule’s implementation is not yet clear, the airline will be arriving in the island-nation at 2:30 p.m. Wednesdays and Saturdays instead of the current schedule of 1:50 a.m. on Thursdays and Saturdays.
Continental Airlines provide daily flights from Guam to Palau and twice a week from Manila, Philippines that a daytime flight is possible if there is a sufficient demand to support it.
The government has asked airlines to change its flight to a daily one so as not to inconvenience tourists.
This way, daytime flights will generate more influx of visitors to Palau.
The schedule will also move the flight leaving from Palau to Manila to an earlier schedule.
Presently Continental leaves Palau to Manila at 7:35 p.m. Wednesdays and Fridays.
The airline is now expected to depart from Palau to Manila on Wednesdays and Saturdays at an earlier time.
