EMPLOYER Support of the Guard and Reserve Guam-CNMI state chairman, Ret. Lt. Col. Rey Llaneta, and vice chair, Ret. Maj. Gen. Benny Paulino, are visiting Saipan to meet with CNMI officials on matters concerning the National Guard members and Reservists.
Accompanied by volunteer support technician Angel D. Vibar, Guam-CNMI area chair Rita A. Sablan, Ed.D., ombudsman Joann Aquino and employer outreach coordinator Rose Igitol, the regional ESGR leaders on Wednesday met with U.S. Congressman Gregorio Kilili Camacho Sablan, Lt. Gov. Llaneta said they conveyed a message of appreciation to the CNMI leaders for their continued support for the troops especially the National Guard members and Reservists.
The CNMI leaders also received ESGR pins for “grand supporters.”
“Again, we are very happy to meet you and bring the message to you that the Guam and CNMI teams are very close,” Llaneta said. “It’s one team actually. We have folks here in the CNMI who work very hard to ensure that we take care of the troops, especially the National Guards and Reservists,” he said.
Paulino said Palacios, even as lawmaker, has been an avid supporter of ESGR and military personnel.
Guam-CNMI area chair Rita A. Sablan, Ed.D., told Palacios that “we are really honored for the time that you gave us today.”
She added that the CNMI ESGR team is also grateful for the leadership provided by Llaneta and Paulino.
Palacios, for his part, said: “We’re always here to support…the National Guard, the Reservists, those in active duty as well as veterans.”
He likewise expressed his appreciation to the regional ESGR team “for making sure that we continue to be on the right page.”
