Fence erected around PHS

The United States Navy Civic Action Team 01-25 has been requested by the Ministry of Education to put up the fence.

Crew Leader SW2 Jose Camargo in an interview said that the first part of the project would be completed by the Navy Team while the rest of the project will be finished by the Army Team.

The Army team will be replacing CAT 01-25 in January.

Kailan Asanuma, maintenance supervisor said that a grant from United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) finance the school fencing.

The amount of the grant was $60,000 while the CAT and their apprentices provided the labor.

The project aims to keep the school safer.

The fence will “keep the ones in school and those that don’t belong here are kept out.”

Five Palauan apprentices are helping out in the project.

The fence that is now being erected in front of the school is about 700 feet wide and eight feet tall.
