FOOTAGE of a two-vehicle collision on Thursday showed a southbound sedan swerving before veering toward oncoming traffic and hitting a northbound RAV4 on Beach Road in Chalan Kanoa near the Surfrider Hotel.
Two concerned citizens who provided Variety with the video said they wanted to correct the initial report about the traffic accident.
It was earlier reported (not by the fire department as earlier stated) that “one vehicle with two passengers heading south collided with another vehicle pulling out of a business establishment's parking lot.”
According to fire department, “Due to the nature of the call all Medics responded to the scene at 9:41 a.m. [on Thursday.] At 9:43 Medic 1 and Rescue 1 were the first arriving units. There were…[four] patients…[who] were treated on scene, fully immobilized and transported to the hospital in Medic 1, Medic 2 and Medic 3.”
Based on the footage, a RAV4 was heading north when a southbound sedan swerved and collided with the RAV4, which sustained heavy damage.
Bystanders said the sedan spun after the collision before resting on the shoulder lane.
