Frederick and Kim win UN Poster Competition

According to Sharon Sakuma, Palau’s Country Development Manager, Joint Presence Initiative, Frederick and Kim had entered in the UDHR poster competition along with many other entrants. 

Their posters, Sakuma said, were chosen because they had depicted the theme of UDHR’s 2008 theme: “Dignity and Justice for all of us.”According to Sakuma, poster entries had to depict the vision for “ ‘Dignity and Justice for All in the Pacific’ as well as draw attention to 3 human rights components: language, culture, and religion.”Frederick and Kim’s posters were voted best among all of the entries and would be entered into the regional competition – which if either is selected winner will be mass produced as UDHR poster.Gustav Aitaro, Director of the Bureau of International Trade and Technical Assistance and Lorilynn Derbai, Foreign Service Officer presented Frederick and Kim with certificates in a simple but significant ceremony at the Joint Presence Initiative office.Sakuma further added that aside from the certificates will received an award of $100 each.
