ALMOST all personnel of executive branch departments and agencies have complied with the Covid-19 vaccination mandate, Gov. Ralph DLG Torres said on Friday.
“I believe almost all of them have addressed the vaccine issue,” he said. “I want to thank [everyone] — not just the departments but all individuals and their families — for understanding how important this vaccination is for our community,” he added.
In February, he issued a directive mandating everyone who works for the executive branch to be vaccinated against Covid-19 in the interest of mitigating the spread of the virus, as well as facilitating a healthy and safe work environment.
The directive was based on guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Occupational Safety & Health Administration and Commonwealth public health authorities.
Under the directive, employees may seek a medical exemption or a religious exemption.
According to the Commonwealth Healthcare Corp. “VAX Dashboard,” as of Tuesday, a total of 34,203 vaccines had been administered with 14,570 people fully vaccinated against Covid-19.
