Governor: Executive branch dedicated to healthy living

ROUGHLY two months into his fitness challenge, Gov. Ralph DLG Torres said he is pleased that cabinet members are also promoting a healthier lifestyle.

“I’m really happy with the cabinet…. [They’ve] started monitoring their health and doing some exercise,” he added.

Torres continues to encourage members of the executive branch to focus on their health, welfare, and self-care, through walking, yoga, meditation, and other forms of exercise.

“All of us have different challenges, and I understand that, but I think that if we’re all healthier, then all of us will have a better production and productivity, not just at work, but [with our families] as well,” he said. “The cabinet is doing very well.”

The governor noted that he has seen videos of cabinet and other executive branch members promoting healthy living through daily morning and evening walks.

Torres was himself challenged by mixed martial arts professional Frank “The Crank” Camacho “to live and lead fit.”

Camacho created a diet and exercise program for Torres who said he is feeling the results.

The governor said he is taking his fitness more seriously, and he is also meeting with a physical trainer and a nutritionist to be able to reach his personal goals.
