Grace ‘Pitu’ seeks aid for Manamko’ Center

PRECINCT 3 House Republican candidate Grace “Pitu” Sablan is reaching out to the community to help her gather donations for the Manamko’ Center, which was burglarized last month.

Sablan said the goal is to donate and replace the items that were stolen from the center.

These include three brush cutters, one chainsaw, two Bluetooth 3ft. Power Speakers (IQ), one Rogue acoustic guitar, two Yamaha acoustic guitars, one Fender electric guitar, one ukulele, one projector (Epson), a toolbox with a set of tools, two guitar amplifiers (Fender), one Xerox machine, one 32-inch Smart TV, one security camera system, two 5-gallon fuel containers and four iPads.

Office of Aging Director Walter A. Manglona said these items were purchased “from funds our elders worked really hard to earn — months of selling King and Queen raffle tickets, making and selling arts and crafts, donating and selling personal items, holding concert events, etc.”

“I’m reaching out to the community to come together as one,” Sablan said. “We need to unite for this cause. Our elders are the pillars of our culture and our families. This crime committed targeted our elderly, one of the more vulnerable age groups in our community and it should not be tolerated. We need to work towards replacing these tools and instruments so that our elders can once again continue their craft and daily living,” Sablan added.

For donations of tools, TVs, iPads, instruments and other items or to make a monetary donation visit the Manamko’ Center in Gualo Rai on July 30, 2022 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. or call Grace Sablan at (670) 286-1977.
