The project made possible through a costs $1 million and entails the construction of a boat ramp, logistical services, eco-tourism launching point for East Coast of Babeldaob .
The groundbreaking ceremony was led by President Johnson Toribiong and members of the Olbiil Era Kelulau.The Capital Improvement Project will be undertaking the construction of the dock.According to the project purpose , the port improvement project will include a boat ramp for fisherman’s use it is also a multi-use port for all the 16 states and the Capitol of the Republic.Bill Huang, counselor for the Taiwan embassy , in behalf of Ambassador Maggie Tien said the project “will not only break new grounds for the economic development of Ngiwal, but also mark a new milestone in Taiwan and Palau’s relations as partner in progress.”He said that when completed the area will be turned into a hub for eco-tourism and help enhance development in Babeldaob.
